Catalyst Mind Center is a place where we aim to help young people develop the skills, values, and character traits they need to become responsible, compassionate, and successful adults.

Our Virtue Youth Programs promote character development, leadership skills, and positive values in young people through activities that promote character development and leadership, such as team-building exercises, service projects, and leadership training. Virtue youth programs can take many forms, including after-school programs, summer camps, mentoring programs, and community service team projects. Through these opportunities, participants can develop virtues such as honesty, responsibility, respect, empathy, and compassion, which are essential for personal growth and success.

aBOUT THE PROGRAM

Our Virtue Youth Programs are for children who like to explore new academic areas through of self empowerment programs. Classes are grouped to a student’s individual interest and passion. These are small classes, with be maximum of 5 to 6 students in each class – just enough to enable active participation and learning chances for all learners while providing each learner a chance to participate and take an active role in their learning.

Admission

Admission Is based on Student and Parents interview and the child’s general interests, and if needed, we implement a general ability test based on the recommendation of the educator. Through our interview process, we will assess your child’s ability to work collaboratively with others, their enthusiasm for learning, and their aptitude for teamwork which is encouraged.

Important Points to be considered:

  • Virtue Group Class Ages are (9 to 12) ( 13 to 15)
  • (Start of the classes is based on the Number of registered students for each program) 
  • (Please note that due to the small class sizes and limited resources, we regret to inform you, that our staff are not equipped to support severe behavioural needs nor tolerate any kind of bullying at our center)

Creative Art

In our creative art classes for children, we teach various art techniques such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and printmaking. We also teach children about color theory, composition, and design principles. Additionally, we introduce children to different art styles and artists from various cultures and time periods. Through our Virtue Creative art classes for children, we instill self-expression and creativity, and help their fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking.

Critical Thinking Courses

Our Critical thinking program are designed to teach students how to think and reason logically, analyze, evaluate arguments, and make sound decisions based on evidence and reasoned judgment. Students will develop the skills they need to become better thinkers, problem-solvers, and decision-makers and succeed in their academic and professional careers.

The following topics are covered:

  • Argument analysis: How to identify and evaluate arguments, and how to construct effective arguments.
  • Logic: How to recognize and avoid fallacies (errors in reasoning) and how to use deductive and inductive reasoning to make valid arguments.
  • Problem-solving: How to identify problems, gather information, analyze data, and develop solutions.
  • Decision-making: How to weigh options, evaluate risks and benefits, and make informed choices.
  • Creativity: How to generate ideas, think outside the box, and find innovative solutions.
  • Communication: How to present ideas clearly and persuasively while avoiding common communication pitfalls.

 

Debate & Assertiveness

Our debate classes aim to improve students’ critical thinking and communication skills while boosting their confidence and encourageing teamwork. Students learn how to research and form their own opinions on various topics, and how to effectively present and defend their viewpoints in a debate setting. They also learn how to listen and respond to opposing conversations, use evidence and persuasive techniques to support their claims, and communicate assertively in a positive manner.

Executive functioning

Our Virtue Executive function classes are designed to help improve the skills related to planning, organizing, and completing tasks. Students learn strategies to manage their time better, prioritize their work, set goals, self-monitor, and self-regulate. These classes also strengthen working memory, attention, and cognitive flexibility.

As a result, students can more efficient and effective learners by enhancing their ability to focus, switch between tasks, inhibit impulses, and work towards their long-term goals. These classes are conducted by our trained professionals and may include individual or group sessions depending on the student’s needs.

Problem Solving

Our Problem-Solving classes teach students the skills and strategies they need to solve problems effectively. They cover a wide range of topics and skills related to critical thinking, decision-making, logical reasoning, creativity, and analysis.

Students learn how to identify and analyze problems, break them down into smaller components, and develop and test solutions. They also learn how to work collaboratively, communicate their ideas effectively, and learn from their mistakes. Our instructors use a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, group discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities. Some classes focus on specific types of problems, such as math or science problems, while others apply problem-solving skills to real-world issues.

Public Speaking & Presentation

Our Public Speaking and Presentation classes equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to effectively communicate in front of a audience. The classes typically cover topics such as speech writing, delivery skills, vocal and body language, use of visual aids, and handling nervousness. These skills are particularly important for students as they navigate academic, professional, and personal situations where they need to present and articulate their ideas effectively. The classes also provide opportunities for students to practice their skills through classroom presentations, discussions, group exercises, and coaching. Overall, the goal of these classes is to help students develop strong communication skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Social Emotional Classes

This program helps children build confidence, self-awareness and compassion. We introduce strategies to enhance overall emotional well-being by using simple tools and doing fun activities. Come dressed to move and participate in art activities. Each participant will receive a mini kit with affirmation cards and other tools to use at home.

Time Management

Our time management program is designed to help students manage their time effectively so they can balance their academic, personal, and professional commitments and become more efficient and productive, while reducing stress and improving their overall well-being.

Our program teach skills related to as goal setting, prioritization, planning, and delegation.

The program also includes practical exercises and techniques to help students apply the concepts to their own lives.
